10 days for 50 students
ENG 10 days for 50 students
picture gallery:
idea:
This is a an online campagin aiming to collect during 10 days a sum of 50 devices, which would ensure proper access to online classes for 50 students in need.
vision:
We act to show solidarity to those in need, and reduce inequalities.
additional instructions:
There is the need for a person to be the coordinator, to overview the whole process, keep in touch with the partners, principals etc. There is also needed a space to deposit all the devices.
additional instructions
Make sure that as a coordinator you are using an easy to be understood language and encourage an inclusive and non-judgemental atmosphere within the group of volunteers. As well are necessary constant meetings for evaluation and planning of work. The more people are involved, the more clear structures must be in place, and the more clear tasks need to be defined.
procedure / program
The campaign is split in 4 phases: 1) Find the number of devices needed and recruit the team of volunteers;
2) Create the campaign and launch it online; 3) Collect the devices donated; 4) Distribute them.
risks :
Pay attention to respecting the measure of Covid-19 prevention, in all phases of this campaign.
:additional material needed:
For the distribution of the devices, might be necessary to owe a car/ find a means of transportation to ensure that the devices get in time to the beneficiaries.
additional important organizational tasks:
It is more relevant to contact a school from a unprivilaged community/ rural area, and decide together with the principal how many children need devices. Based on this to create the company „x days fo y students”.
content description:
For the distribution of the devices, might be necessary to owe a car/ find a means of transportation to ensure that the devices get in time to the beneficiaries.
schedule/activities:
1) Firstly, it is needed to know how many devices need to be collected. Therefore, find a school, for example, and assess their needs: how many devices, how many days to collect them etc. 2) Together with the staff and/ or volunteers invovled, shape up the visuals of the campaign and make the social media plan: how many posts, on which channel (perhaps Facebook is suitable since it gives access to many people over 30 years old who potentially owe devices or afford donating). Once this is set, launch the campaign and update the public: if you wish to get 50 devices for 50 students in 10 days, you can say „10 days for 50 students” and once you receive devices update the campaign with the message „number of remaining days for number of remaining students”. 3) Meanwhile, collect the devices and store them in a safe space. 4) Distribute the devices and ensure that they reach the students. Make a social media post with the overall results, this motivates people and engages them in further similar campaigns.
closing activities:
Make sure that at the end of the campaign, you organise a meeting with all volunteers to check on how their overall experience was and what lessons they took out of it.
Constant evlauation and planning meetings are useful, the longer and the more devices are needed, the more meetings should take place. Also, at the end of the campaign, prepare an evaluation meeting for all volunteers/ staff involved, while looking at: how their experience was, what did they do, were the targets reached, what was difficult/ easy, what would they do differently next time, what did they personally learn, will they engage in another similar activity - when what how they will do it.
To check the sustainability of the campaign, after around 1 month after the devices have been distributed, try to assess if the beneficiaries really made use of them and what challenges/ benefits arised.
