Having in mind that we live in a media age, the aim of this debate is to discuss about the importance of media literacy and critical thinking.

idea:

The idea of this debate is to discuss and teach young people about the importance of media literacy and how to analyze the news that media serves us, with a critical eye and avoid becoming passive consumer of media news and other data.

vision:

We are doing this, in order to inform young people how important is to have the critical thinking skills in today's world surronded by the media.

Debate “Youth and media literacy” - Research suggests that that young people spend 30-40 minutes a day reading and about seven to eight hours a day consuming media. Having this in media, it is important to teach young people how to critically analyze the news and information that the media serves us.
In this part of the public debate, we discuss about the societal importance of media literacy and the need for critical thinking youth, who consumes media with a critical eye and doesn’t become passive consumer of news
and other data.

Ask the media!Questions for the journalists! In this part of the public debate, young people have the chance to learn more about the importance of media literacy skills, by asking questions to the representatives of the media.

Discussion and finalization: Ask the participants about their experience with this public debate and encourage them to critically analyze the news that the media serves us.
