Fundamental Rights in times of Corona

ENG Fundamental Rights in times of Corona

picture gallery:

We will discuss the restrictions of the fundamental rights imposed by the government to contain the spread of the novel SARS-CoV-2 virus.

idea:

To protect the citizens during the Corona crisis, also fundamental rights are limited, including the right to freedom of movement (Art. 11, German Basic Law), that means we are not allowed to go everywhere desired anymore, the invulnerability of the home (Art. 13, German Basic Law), that means the public health officer can just unsolicitedly enter an infected person’s apartment or the right to freedom of occupation (art. 12, German Basic Law), i.e. in spring 2020, a lot of stores and all restaurants needed to close, so that the employees could not carry out their work anymore.
Ever since the Basic Law has been enforced, there have never been such massive restrictions of the fundamental laws (as in 2020). We are going to discuss what fundamental laws actually mean and if the measures taken are appropriate.

vision:

The fundamental rights are a core element of our society and have a strong significance for our judicial system. That is why we want to discuss the reasonableness of the imposed restrictions in a constructive way.

additional instructions:
