ENG Think critically and create online content

picture gallery:

"With this education, young people think about their own responsibility in the online environment, ways to fact-check the online content, and how to create online content that promotes democratic values and an inclusive society."

idea:

During the COVID-19 crisis, we became aware of the importance of online environment in which young people "live" on a daily basis. It can be productive, but only if we handle it competently. Therefore, we must learn the basic methods of critical analysis of online content, but also become competent creators of online content in order to be examples of good practice to others.

vision:

The main goal of this workshop is to encourage young people to think critically and give them concrete tools that they can use in everyday life. We live in a time when we are oversaturated with information from all sides and it is very important to know what to do with it. The pandemic further emphasizes the importance of critical thinking and media literacy, but the education system still does not encourage young people to develop critical thinking. Therefore, it is very important to promote critical thinking through informal workshops and trainings, such as this one on creating online content.

additional instructions

The facilitator should prepare basic instructions for creating online content and direct the questions to the participants so that they are in some form part of the jointly adopted plan.

risks :

Young people could be empowered to create content that still does not meet the set standards.

:

additional material needed:

each participant should have a mobile phone or a laptop (with internet access)

content description:

each participant should have a mobile phone or a laptop (with internet access)

schedule/activities:

The facilitator announces that he will work in several groups according to pre-set topics (proposed topics: human rights, quality education, sustainable development, politics and youth), and within which he will develop a post for FB / IG / Tik Tok that will become an example of good practice, and all this following the instructions they devised together with the facilitator. In doing so, they should also find an adequate visual and / or article to which they refer, and on the occasion of which they write that post. They post the created content within a closed FB / IG group, and then read it and present their work to other groups.

closing activities:

The facilitator brings the participants back to the questions from the beginning - how to create quality content, what they have to pay attention to and whether they can apply what they have learned in everyday life.
