Workshop: This time I choose!

ENG Workshop: This time I choose!

In May 2019 the European Parliament elections will take place for the 9th time in Europe. More than ever, the future of the European Union will be decided. For the first time in the over 65-year history of successful European integration, the withdrawal of the member state Great Britain is imminent. Moreover, in almost every European country there are parties and currents that are sceptical or even hostile to the EU, and it is estimated that they could win around a third of the seats in Parliament in this election. In the "This time I vote!" workshop, we want to take a closer look at all the questions that we are dealing with regarding the European elections, both in terms of the electoral system and the issues involved.

idea:

Especially in view of the low turnout at the last European elections, we also want to discuss why voting is so important and how to motivate others to vote. For although most of us take democracy for granted, it seems to be increasingly under threat and must therefore be actively shaped.

Encouraging people to take part in this important european election.
