On a daily basis, racist speeches and xenophobic actions spread hate among people from different nationalities, ethnic groups, or social groups. It's up to us to educate ourselves and those close to us, in order to support peace and cooperation between people, regardless of our differences. Nelson Mandela said: “No one is born hating another person because of the color of their skin, their background, or religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.” The workshop addressed the topic of intercultural dialogue and how we can identify and fight stereotypes, bias, prejudice and discrimination. It has a duration of approximately 2 hours and is conducted in an interactive and informative manner.

idea:

For young people living in a multicultural environment it is important to be aware and understand the impact negative behaviours have on others. Therefore, the session aims to equip the participants with knowledge about how to fight stereotypes, bias, prejudice and discrimination and promote respect and tolerance regardless of one's nationality, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, etc.

vision:

To empower young people on becoming more respectful and tolerant towards other people in a diverse and multicultural environment.
The aim of the session was to improve the knowledge about negative behaviours in the context of intercultural dialogue (stereotypes, bias, prejudice anddiscrimination) for 8 young people, participants in the European Solidarity Corps programme, through an interactive and informative online workshop session.
